Lessons Learned so far

I guess it has been a while since I posted anything.  Life in the NorthWoods has been chaotic, to say the least.  As many of you know, I have moved to Merrill, WI which is the county seat of Lincoln County and this is a different town.  Not saying it is bad, but sure will be happy to move back to the Tomahawk area.

School is going well...sort of.  This semester is a bit of a challenge for me since I had to take last semester off and I am learning things out of order. By that I mean that I am taking 4th semester classes while I am a 3rd semester student.  Nicolet College started this 8-week block stuff that is crazy...we are taking courses in 8 weeks that would normally take 16 weeks to complete!

Sometimes I think I am crazy to go back to school and take on this challenge but the Lord has me up here for some reason and He also has me temporarily in Merrill.  I wish He would fill me in on His plans for me but we all know "that ain't gonna happen", as my Granma use to say.

So, for all you who are getting tired of the snow let me remind you that you do live in the NorthWoods  and snow on the ground gave me water for 8 weeks while the lot manager was trying to figure out why I couldn't get water into my trailer. So PRAISE the LORD for the snow and when God is ready, Spring will be here for those of us who chose to live in the area.

Happy Friday everyone...

You know that old saying "If life gives you lemons then make lemonade"? Well I say, If life gives you lemons blow them to bits because who wants to be a sour puss anyway.

Things haven't been easy for me lately and sometimes I just want to sit down and cry but with tears comes snot so why bother.  I no longer have my apartment in Tomahawk and while I am looking for another place I had to swallow my pride and ask the Community Center in Merrill to help me.

There first option was the shelter in either Wausau or Rhinelander but since I have trust issues anyway I asked for shelter over the weekend and hopefully I will hear back from my prospective landlord sometime Monday morning.

I am a very private person but through this situation I have learned to share what I am going through and my heart is overflowing with the offer from a very dear friend. He actually brought tears to my eyes with his offer for help and for that I truly thank you.

Now as an IT student I use the computer alot but do you think I can find a place in the Merrill area who will do a front end alignment on my Ford Explorer?  The one place that was in the Yellow Pages is booked until the end of the year so I am now looking in the Wausau area.

I miss living in Tomahawk and I especially miss my roommate because I use to bounce ideas and my frustrations off of him.  It is true that you never know what you have until it is gone and so that is Life in the Northwoods.

A beautiful day by all standards.  Last night it was about 48 degrees and today should be no more than 76 degrees.   Woke up to the beauty of Creation and enjoyed a cup of coffee while watering my tomatoes.
Is this a normal day? Not at all but as I transition into the month of August I am making changes in my life that should have been made about two months ago.
I know longer get upset or irritated over thing I can't control.  That was a big issue with me but I have learned that life is way too short to sweat the small stuff.
Back to school in about 4 weeks so have all my "back to school" shopping done and may be making changes to my class schedule to accomodate work schedule.  After getting divorced and leaving a lucritive position in the big city, I have learned to re-evaluate almost everything I do and am much happier with life because of it.
The morale of today's posting?
Take the time to enjoy the beauty of creation around you and love your life just as it is.  You can't change a thing and your footsteps are already ordered by  the Lord! Enjoy the ride and enjoy your day!
